2. Which data we process

When you use our contact form or send us plans, we process the data you provide yourself:

• Name, email address and telephone number
• Location and type of your project
• Your message and any uploaded plans, sketches, dimensions or an existing quote
• Technical data about your visit (IP address, browser), for the proper functioning and security of the site
• On sending a form: the page on which you entered our site, the page on which you filled in the form, and the site or search that referred you to us. That helps us judge your question correctly and see which of our pages really help people. Of the referring addresses we keep only the site name and the path, never the search terms behind them.
• Name, address and file details from public permit sources, when we write to you by post

3. What we use them for

We use your data solely to handle your request, provide you with a proposal and communicate further with you about your project. We do not send a newsletter without your express consent.

If we send you an invitation by post on the basis of publicly available permit data, the personal code on that printed matter records whether and when it was scanned, linked to your name and address from our mailing list, together with a shortened indication of your browser. We use that only to evaluate our mailing and follow it up appropriately. No IP addresses are stored and no cookies are placed. You can object at any time via hello@cervano.be, after which we remove your details from the mailing list.

4. Legal basis

We process your data on the basis of your consent, of the steps necessary to prepare and perform an agreement in response to your request, of our legitimate interest in the security of the site, in simple visitor statistics and in targeted prospecting, and of our legal obligations regarding accounting and invoicing.

5. Retention period

Requests that do not lead to an assignment, and the files you uploaded with them, we keep for a maximum of 24 months. Files of completed assignments we keep for 10 years, in view of warranty and liability. Invoicing and accounting data we keep for 7 years, as the law requires. Scan data from prospecting letters we keep for a maximum of 12 months. After that the data are deleted.

6. Sharing with third parties

We never sell your data. We share them only with service providers who assist us, for example for email or hosting, and only in so far as necessary, with the appropriate agreements in place.

For the display of the typefaces this site calls on Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited). In doing so your IP address and browser information are sent to Google servers, possibly outside the European Economic Area. That takes place on the basis of our legitimate interest in a correct display of the site.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw your consent. Please email hello@cervano.be for this. You may also lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority, gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.

8. Cookies and storage on your device

This site places no analytics or marketing cookies, and there are no third-party trackers on it. What we do use:

• No storage for your choice of language. Every language has its own address (/en/ and /fr/), so the site does not have to remember anything to stay in your language. The former key cervano_lang is no longer used.
• The origin of your visit (cervano_herkomst_bezoek): where you arrived and which site referred you. That sits in your browser session storage and disappears as soon as you close the tab. It is used only when you send a form yourself, so that we can place your request. We do not follow you with it across visits, we build no profile with it, and it does not go to third parties.
• How this page is read (cervano_sessie and cervano_paginateller): how long you stay on a page, how far you scroll, which pieces of text came into view and what you click. That shows us which explanations work and which we had better rewrite. This too sits in session storage and disappears as soon as you close the tab. The number is a throwaway figure without any meaning beyond that one visit: it tells us nothing about who you are, where you come from or whether you were here before. No IP address is stored with it and nothing goes to Google or any other party; the measurement runs entirely on our own server.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we store none of this: no origin, and no reading behaviour either. Nothing is then measured at all.

If you want to erase that storage immediately, closing the tab is enough, or email us at hello@cervano.be. Should we ever wish to keep track of origin across several visits, we will first ask your consent.
